Introduction

Hi all! My name is Sarah Kovalenko. I’m 22 years old, and I live in Jerusalem, Israel. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where I attended elementary and high school. Then I spent a year in Jerusalem for seminary, and I studied to become a teacher. I continued my education by completing a BA in Liberal Arts. Then I joined the NYIT Masters in Education Program, and I am currently in my third semester.
I have two adorable daughters; one is two years old, and the other is four months old. I enjoy playing with my children, reading, and any sort of music.
If I would write a book about myself, I would probably name it “Me, Myself, and I”. The reason this came to my mind was because in third grade, we each wrote a book about ourselves and this is the title that I came up with then.
During the past year, I have been very interested in politics and the presidential elections. I heard about a joke that Donald Trump said at the Al Smith Dinner, after the last debate, and I thought it was really funny. He said that Hillary bumped into him, and she said “Pardon me.” Trump politely replied, “Let me talk to you about that after I get into office.”
I am familiar with teaching language from last semester, and I know about new literacies too, but I’d love to learn more about the topics.

My only concern about this course is how I will have the time to do all my work, while taking care of my family, cooking, and cleaning. My two daughters are full time jobs, and since I live far away, I don’t have the advantage of receiving any help from my parents and family. However, I know that everything is doable as long as you want it. My education is important to me, and therefore, I find the time to do everything that the courses require.
